Sports Day

One of the most hallowed of Ukarumpa International School annual events is Sports Day. On this one day of the year, students get to spend the whole day outdoors participating in a variety of events: running races, shuttle run, softball throw, long jump, obstacle course, and others. The final event of the day is a tug-of-war between the two school teams (at the Primary Campus, yellow and red; our family is on the red team). All the parents who are able come to the Primary Campus to cheer the kids on. Yesterday (Friday) was Sports Day 2012, and it was a beautiful, sunny, blue-sky day: perfect for being outdoors. James and Cameron had a great time, and Joyce and I were proud to see them trying their best and having fun with their friends.

The picture above shows the for-fun 3-legged race, near the end of the day. James and two of his friends turned it into a 4-legged race. In the back, to the left, is Cameron crossing the finish line with one of his friends, cheered on by another friend.
