Scenes from January, 1: Vacation!

2015 has started really well! We all feel strange finally being in 2015, the year when we'll move back to America. In only five months, we'll say farewell to Papua New Guinea and begin our travels back to the US.
Four relaxed Coulters
I thought I'd share two scenes from what our January has looked like. The first is our annual family vacation. We flew in a small plane from Ukarumpa, our hometown, to Madang, a city on the north coast of New Guinea. We all enjoyed spending five relaxing days at the Madang Resort, one of our favorite places to holiday in PNG. Our room was right on the ocean--the sound of waves, and boats motoring between town and the islands just off the coast.

Most of our time during the days was spent in the pool--a rare treat for the kids (getting swimming lessons for the kids is one of the things we're really looking forward to back in America). We also all loved eating at restaurants--fish and chips, curry, prawns, ice cream.

Here are some more pictures from wonderful days together as a family:

If the bottom of the pool is disintegrating, the logical thing to do is to collect pieces of it and make a parrot mosaic
